Skiberry: a free online DAW you play with your computer keyboard

Your keyboard is the instrument.

Skiberry is a free, web-based DAW (digital audio workstation) that runs in your browser. Your computer keyboard works as a MIDI keyboard, so you can compose, record, edit, mix and export songs without owning a MIDI controller or installing anything. When the song is done, export it as an MP4 music video and share it.

Share your music as an MP4 video

Export MP4 turns your song into a clean music video: your piano roll scrolls past a playhead and every note lights up in its track colour as it sounds, framed by your song title and a "Composed by" credit. No screen recording, no video editor.

Questions

Is Skiberry an alternative to FL Studio, Ableton Live or GarageBand?

Yes, for sketching and finishing simple songs. Skiberry is a lighter, free alternative to installed DAWs such as FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro and GarageBand: it opens in a browser on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook, needs no MIDI keyboard, and keeps the core workflow of tracks, a piano roll, a mixer with effects and audio export. When a song outgrows it, export MIDI and keep working in your desktop DAW.

Can I turn my song into a video to share?

Yes. Export MP4 renders the song with its lit-up, scrolling piano roll in square, vertical or landscape format. It renders in your browser in Chrome or Edge on desktop.

Do I need a MIDI keyboard?

No. Skiberry maps your computer keyboard to piano keys. A MIDI keyboard is not required.

Do I need to install or sign up?

No install, and no account to start: open the page and play. To save or export a song, sign in with Google; the song you made as a guest is kept.

Can I use my song in other music software?

Yes. Export audio as WAV or MP3, or export MIDI to keep editing in another DAW.
